 The Member for Algester and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Health allegedly had a blood alcohol reading of 0.16 - more than three times the legal limit. August 2007.. Hey, Karen Struthers appears behaved since, except for an incident at the ballet box where it is said she elbowed an opponent.

install hand-picked candidates in several seats made vacant by the
casualties of factionally inspired electoral enrolment rorts exposed by
the Shepherdson Inquiry. Beattie’s ascendancy over his party is less
than at its peak, but he’s still played a role in ensuring
pre-selections for the ten seats of retiring MPs are “horses for
courses** In particular, Beattie pitched both to the women’s vote and
the party’s internal left through insisting that a good proportion of
female candidates was selected. These candidates include two daughters
of ALP politicians, Vicky Darling in Sandgate and Annastacia Palaszczuk
in Inala. Darling’s mother was a one time Federal member for Lilley,
and Palaszczuk’s father Henry is a Minister and the retiring MP for
Inala. But both have strong local connections and can’t be stereotyped
as “white bread# machine reared pollies."A STRONG SMELL OF ONIONS 

Heinrich "Henry" Palaszczuk (born 12 January 1947) is a former Australian politician. Born in Germany of Polish parents, he moved to Queensland.

A school teacher prior to his entry into politics,

he joined the Australian Labor Party in 1980.

In 1984, he was elected to the Queensland Legislative Assembly

as the Labor member for Archerfield, moving to Inala
in 1992. When Labor won office in 1998, he was appointed Minister for
Primary Industries and in 1999 also took the Rural Communities
portfolio. In 2004 he became Minister for Primary Industries and
Fisheries, and transferred to Natural Resources and Mines in 2005. In
2006 he had Water added to his portfolio. Palaszczuk retired from
politics in 2006; he was succeeded in his seat of Inala by his
daughter, Annastacia.^[1]
